Riyadh Air has officially launched its cargo division under the name Riyadh Cargo, marking its entry into the global air freight market. This move activates belly-hold cargo services across the airline’s expanding wide-body fleet—and signals a major step in Saudi Arabia’s logistics ambitions.
From the start, the strategy has been clear: build a scalable, integrated cargo business centered on Riyadh. To that end, the airline will tap into capacity from its orderbook of more than 120 wide-body aircraft. As a result, it can connect key markets with speed and reliability.
Moreover, the cargo operation is rolling out in phases—carefully aligned with Riyadh Air’s network growth. That way, service expansion matches both route development and operational readiness. In other words, growth won’t outpace capability.
Already, early results are promising. As part of the airline’s “Pathway to Perfect” rollout, Riyadh Cargo has begun flying shipments on the Riyadh–London Heathrow route. So far, it has moved a diverse mix of goods—including garments, fresh flowers, seafood, tea, and coffee.
These initial flights aren’t just test runs. On the contrary, they show the team can handle time-sensitive, perishable, and high-value cargo with consistency. And because these are live commercial operations, every flight delivers real customer value.
Pravin Singh, Global Head of Cargo at Riyadh Air, says the Riyadh Cargo launch was designed with the long term in mind. “We built this business around discipline, reliability, and scalability,” he explained. He added that launching in a live environment lets them learn fast, adapt quickly, and refine processes in real time.
Furthermore, he emphasized that this isn’t just about moving boxes—it’s about supporting Saudi Vision 2030. By linking Asia, Europe, and Africa through efficient air freight, Riyadh Cargo aims to position the Kingdom as a global logistics gateway.
Looking ahead, cargo capacity will grow alongside the airline’s route map. Every new destination opens fresh opportunities for trade. And with digital tools and modern infrastructure, the service is built to evolve.
In short, the Riyadh Cargo launch isn’t just a new business line—it’s a strategic pillar in Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation. And if early momentum is any sign, it’s off to a strong, steady start.
